What do you think are the best skills so far?
Wanted to get everyone's thoughts on what skills they're finding most effective. Going to throw a baseline list below. Looking forward to getting others' thoughts and potentially change my mind on some of these!
Top tier
- Crazed - the crowd favorite. highest snowball potential.
- Punch - very strong, esp as an opener. goes through sturdy (wall), but not shield (armor).
- Cripple - best way to mitigate damage, esp since you can stack multiple cripples on one target.
Good
- Leech - Gives your cards staying power. However, does nothing if full health and requires you to do damage to activate (if your hit is negated by sturdy/shield, you don't leech. You also do not leech on direct damage).
- Motivate - best damage enhancer. Activates once card hits the board, so great reactive play to boost a card to take out the opposing card.
- Sturdy - Tank staple.
- Jab - pairs well with the best DPS cards (crazed/punch). Punch + jab gives your DPS tank-killing potential
- Shield - great support skill. Stacks with other shield combos. However, cards cannot shield themselves and expires at the beginning of your next turn (doesn't carry over).
Ok
- Gas - goes through both sturdy(?) and shield(?). Once poisoned, opposing card is poisoned until they die (even if they combo up). Cons with gas is that a) it doesn't activate until your next turn, so opponent gets to attack and b) does not activate if your attack is 0 or gets blocked by sturdy.
- Bomb - goes through sturdy, but not shield(?). good utility, but requires good positioning to maximize.
- Cheer - activates on the card's turn, not before any attacks, so it will buff random cards to the right of it. i haven't seen cheer significantly higher than motivate, which often makes motivate better and easier to position.
- Heal - worse than shield because it is reactive, not proactive -- it benefits only when one of your other cards has taken damage; can't heal past full.
Eh
- Boost - usually has higher "stat" than craze, but is much slower and thus worse. great "first play" or on a card that you're fine leaving on the board for a while.
- Recover - same as boost.
- Payback - Goes through sturdy(?), but not shield(?) Payback values are pretty low and require you to take damage in order to give it.
edit: formatting and moved gas up.
