Sombra is not going to be a playable hero. Co-op campaign speculations.
TLDR: She is an antagonist controlling omnics for a co-op campaign
First and only proof: think of Ana release, it was short, a few stuff here and there, and released on PTR.
Second and full on speculations: Sombra has been around longer than even the teases for Ana, she just managed to transmite something to all omnics except our known Bastion unit.
What did Sombra do now? Analyzing it, and considering that we have two playable omnics, one from the War and another post-War, I'm quite sure that she just gained control of the omnics from the War, like the Bastion units, NOT the ones created post-War like Zenyatta. Why would the console specify that Bastion was compromised? Because he is corrupted! He was not able to be controlled by Sombra, we can see that, as he did NOT follow the order of attacking the human city.
This is for leaving the option of letting Zenyatta and Bastion as playable characters, playable characters for a co-op campaign that is, we will be able to use all heroes in it, and it will be against omnics from the last War,
WHY SOMBRA, WHY?
Why would she initiate another Omnic Crisis? what will it accomplish, for starters, a full on war against the Old Omnics mean that the New Omnics and the Humans will have to join forces against them for the first time... not only that, but several rogue organizations like TALON will have to join with the ex-Overwatch agents when they go out of hiding, for the greater good... of themselves that is... you can't govern the world if everyone is dead... this alliance WILL have to recruit new people and join forces around the world, that's when the Russians and MEKA comes in, or even other criminal organizations like the Junkers and the Shimada clan...
She will try to unite the World against a single enemy, making the old war omnics the new enemy...
Hope you enjoyed this, I hope and pray this I'm correct... a hero for me would be the biggest of disappointments...
