What is Dropzone?

Dropzone is a real-time strategy game with some MOBA elements for the PC. Each player controls a squad of three rigs (usually called "heroes" in MOBAs) in short 15 minutes long matches. You can play PvP in 1v1 and 2v2 matches.

Dropzone will be free-to-play. Currently Dropzone is in closed beta since 22 July 2016. No date was yet given for the start of the open beta - but we can probably expect it some time early 2017.

Dropzone is being developed by Sparkypants Studios and published by Gameforge.

How can I play it now?

You can play it now, but you need a beta key. However, there are multiple and easy ways to get a key. Once you have a beta key, create a Gameforge account, redeem your key and download the game.

Here are the easiest and most common ways to get a beta key:

  • Download the game installer from Gameforge and try your luck with the integrated raffle for a beta key.
  • Try your luck with the Facebook raffle for a beta key.
  • Check out the official Facebook and Twitter, they often give out beta keys.
  • Politely ask the nice admins of Dropzone Nation for a beta key over at their Discord.
  • Sign up for an ESL Dropzone tournament.

Where can I report bugs and feedback to the developers?

Dropzone is still in beta, therefore your feedback is highly valued. On the forums you will find dedicated subforums for "Bugs" and "Feedback". Please use these. These subforums even exist in different languages, so choose the one you are most comfortable with. Before making your first bug report, please read the following "Common Support Info".

When a new patch comes out for Dropzone, the developers also create a patch-specific post in the English "Discussion" subforum - if you have patch-specific feedback, please reply with your feedback inside these posts. They have titles like "[PATCH NOTES] 1078 - Please leave your feedback". Normally, the latest patch feedback post is pinned to the top of the subforum.

Is it allowed to stream or record videos of Dropzone?

Yes.

If you want to stream an ESL Dropzone event, you have to check with an ESL admin first (ahead of time).
