How do you find subjects to practice hypnosis on as a beginner?
So I've been looking into hypnosis, particularly street hypnosis, for the last few weeks. It seems really really intriguing and I would love to learn the craft. The problem I'm having right now though is simple: I don't have anyone to practice on.
I've attempted to hypnotize both my brother and my mom with the magnetic hands rapid induction, and I'm sure you all can guess how well that worked out. I had read before that hypnotizing family members and friends is really hard and maybe even impossible for beginners because those people see you as you and not as 'the hypnotist'. So how am I supposed to learn?
The only idea I've been able to come up with is simply going to the mall or another public place and telling people that I'm a stage hypnotist practicing for a show, or something, and that I'm looking for people to practice on. From what I've read it seems convincing your subject that you know what you're doing and that you can without a doubt induct them is just as important as the induction itself. One post I read on this sub about learning to hypnotize people said that the first step is to spew a "steady, constant stream of bullshit". So, in theory, going to a public place and telling volunteers that I am an actual, accomplished hypnotist, should work, correct?
Obviously this is all kind of insane and if possible I'd much rather learn another way or learn to hypnotize my family or friends. But I'm not sure if that's possible, especially as a beginner. So can I learn to hypnotize my family, or do I need to find subjects some other way?
