Necron Biotransferrence

So most of the Necrons are still interested in transferring their consciousnesses back into flesh and blood bodies, a quest several of them have literally dedicated eternity to figuring out. This leads to my question:

Assume time passes and the Emperor gets up from his eternal bathroom break, and the Silent King manages to reunite the Necron dynasties with some degree of success. They both want the Tyranids gone, so they form an alliance and manage to push back the hive fleets enough that the hive mind decides to go find an easier snack. The Imperium already has a ton of servitors and such that are essentially mindless automatons in human bodies, so assuming the process works out would the Imperium be willing to let the Necrons biotransfer into essentially-dead human bodies? Would that essentially merge the two species? Would either side even consider this, even with the potential advantages it would give to both sides? Am I stretching my assumptions too far?

No. Necrons are xenos, and by the Emperor's decree all xenos must be killed.

The thing is, servitors have their brains scrambled a fair amount, and are often heavily modified such that most of them can only perform one particular task. Flesh and blood though they may be (for the most part) there wouldn't be much appeal for a necron to transfer his soul into one if he physically can only wash dishes or carry a sedan chair.

I'm making the assumption here that they find servitors that specifically could function perfectly well without issue post-transferrence. Given the sheer number of them, I imagine that's doable.

And if it's not, well most of the Necron warriors don't have much going on up there anymore anyway, so I doubt their lords would care if they got fleshy robot bodies.

Yea this has always been my thoughts on the matter too. The necrons and humanity don't have too many conflicting objectives compared to other groups the Emperor could ask for tech in exchange for giving the necrons humans to take over (it would probably be a net positive gain for humanity in numbers). The thing is though why would the necrons want human bodies? If they have the ability to pick why not Eldar who are immortal and have psychic powers. Who would pick the humans who are prone to mutation and early deaths. Yea they could use their tech to help make humans live longer but why go through all that work when they can just take over the galaxy and has the pick of the lot plus they can even improve the races they find while they are at it.

Because in this case they'd have easy access to a bunch of humans? Eldar are very scarce and extremely difficult to catch, and there's not enough of them for all the Necrons anyway (and would they really want to use the bodies of their most hated enemies?)

The necrons and humanity don't have too many conflicting objectives

Humans want to rule the galaxy. Necrons want to rule the galaxy. Seems like they have a lot of reason to want to conquer the other.

Emperor could ask for tech in exchange for giving the necrons humans to take over

HERESY!

it would probably be a net positive gain for humanity in numbers

Arguably those that have Necron minds transferred into their bodies are no longer human, so this could be seen as defilement of the human form which is HERESY!

The thing is though why would the necrons want human bodies?

Humans are abundant, reproduce at a steady rate, have pre-established infrastructure on many worlds and they are damn good job at staying alive in despite everything that the galaxy throws at them.

If they have the ability to pick why not Eldar who are immortal and have psychic powers

Because the Eldar and Necrons hate each other much, much more than humans and Necrons hate each other. Also, good luck trying to get enough Eldar bodies for biotransferring the entire Necron population.

Who would pick the humans who are prone to mutation and early deaths

Beats being a sickly Necrontyr or being stuck in Necrodermis.

plus they can even improve the races they find while they are at it

Why would they? The Necrons have shown that their number one priority is looking out for number one.

Servitors are lobotimised near-vegetables, they would be useless to the Necrons. You could instead use the convicts who are sentenced to be turned into servitors. Same outcome for the convict, body for the Necron.

But there's no way the Emperor, or indeed anyone with any sense would agree to it. There's a reason the Old Ones refused to help the Necrontyr. The Necrontyr were a culture of selfish bastards obsessed with making themselves as great and lauded as possible before their relatively short lives ended. This intense ambition is bad enough when paired with such potent technology as they possess, and we can see what they're doing with those two things plus effective immortality.

It would be better for everyone in the galaxy if the Necrons and Necrontyr vanished and never returned.

Yup, I don't dispute it. Necrons made the galaxy bad by starting a galactic war and buggering up the warp by it.

Humans came along much later and ruined everything for everyone else even further by stomping all over the place then defecating themselves, filling the cock-up of the eldar with hateful superhumans.

In short, everyone needs to stop being stupid.

If the Necrons knew how to do it, and all they needed were bodies, they could have accomplished it eons ago.

The problem is they don't know how to reverse what the C'tan's did to them.

Kansai_MothAdeptus Custodes•

u/neterlan is more right than he knows. The Imperium's official stance is that all xenos must be purged to make way for man with his Divine Manifest Destiny to rule the galaxy, the same galaxy that the Necron consider to be theirs. Biotransferrance is something the Necron will do when they figure out how to do it, and then they will probably try to build bodies analogous to the ones they had before. The two don't want to coexist, or everyone would already be working together.

Remember the Emperor is space Hitler, all xenos must be purged and working with them is unthinkable

BlackendLight•

Wouldn't they only want space marine bodies? I know one dynasty had their tech guy looking at space marines for the bio transfer reverse but there seemed to be little interest in normal humans.
