I'd hate to look like I'm starting a petition to cause a guy to lose his job, even if he sucks at it lol But I wonder how that would go over here, maybe I could just ask he be transferred to a different assignment. Gota come up with a good title. Of course don't know how far it'd get from Reddit, and I'd feel obliged to start a petition to remove Rick "Asshat" Bonnell too, so it could get kind of messy lol

Number 1 reason I quit espn years ago and haven't looked back. Sure, I'll follow their fb and instagram accounts for the odd tidbit but I'll be damned if I give their channel a single second of ratings in my home...

Unfortunately the bulk of information and updates about the team seem to often come out first via Newton, so even though he sucks, I find myself inevitably having to see what his articles have to say. Catch 22

I didnt realize others felt the same way as me about David Newton. Every time I click an ESPN article and see it's written by him I click away. His reporting is so vanilla, with no new information, or anything of real substance. It's just quotes from coaches and players followed by some facts. Really boring beat. Not to mention, the guy is terrible on camera. His voice cadence and tone is all wrong for an on camera report. Unfortunately last year the whole country had to watch this guy in our run up to the super bowl on ESPN.

He's a horrible reporter and Bill Voth is an absolute smart ass. Wish Jjones was still with the observer. Joe person gets called out too by coaches and all lol. So it's not really a good one left.

I think he's typically a smart ass when people disregard what he has to say, especially when he has a source. It would be kind of like if someone came into your work and started telling you that you're doing your job wrong. JJ was like that to an extent as well

Yea they all can be kind of smart when answering dumb questions or are annoyed. But I've never seen any of them be just a rude ass like voth is. I had to unfollow him it was pissing me off bc I saw him do it to multiple people and then he blocked them lol. I get ppl ask dumb questions but you know your job you're gonna get those.

Youre totally right. One time i was trying to help him correct a typo so i let him know and he snapped at me hardcore. Had to guilt him into realizing he was being a total douch nozzle

Voth is the best we have right now, and Jeremy Igo with the Carolina Huddle. But I have to say he's fallen off a bit this year from where he was during training camp and last year.

I remember when he started the all pro back 2 years ago it was so he could go to the away games and take pictures. Now we don't even get those anymore. I'm just about done with him.

Yeah I feel ya. I think any beat writer for any of your teams is just plane horrible. Living in Oregon my college team is Oregon and our two beat writers are complete trash. You can actually see their smirks in their tweets any time the Ducks lose, and they're constantly like "Sorry I'm just telling the truth" even though most of their shit is just speculation.

Guys. . . maybe everyone should read the original article. I have no love for David Newton, but this article was actually about how Oher is proving he isn't going to walk away. It's about how hard he's working to get back to playing the game he loves. Read the dang article.

Newton is trash. He's the worst now taking the spot from Joe Person who got called out by so many people including Rivera that he stopped being as big of a jabroni. They're both awful though.
