If Nazi Germany was indeed a threat to our freedom, then don't we owe thanks to all the people who fought them regardless of nationality? Why do I owe respect to an American that killed one fascist but not a Russian that killed 100?

You owe respect to all the brave men and women that valiantly fought against the fascist threat, regardless of their nationality. Nobody here would say otherwise.

Everyone who fought against the fascist scums deserves admiration no matter what nationality they were. For example i will always respect and love the people from the international brigades that fought against Franco because they even gave their lives to stop fascist in a country that was not theirs.

Due to the cold war, I feel like a lot of people never gave the Soviets the true respect they deserved. True heroes.
Its worse than them getting no respect, the Soviets are often treated as being little better than the Nazis.
Very true.
