93 Mike Modano Review

Thoughts: great all around, no complaints

Skating: 9/10 - Mike Modano is extremely speedy, especially with team wheel and cycle game. His agility and endurance could be better, but his straight line speed it excellent. He can reach top speed as quick as anyone.

Shooting: 9.5/10 - Modano has an absolute clapper. His one timer and slapshot do not miss very often and he can pick corners. His wrist shot seems to bring him down, as his power is not as good as I'd think, but he can still snipe.

Hands: 8/10 - Modano has some underwhelming hands. Sure he can pull off dekes and they can be effective, they are not as fast as they should. His passes are seemingly underwhelming at times but can also be very slick. This was probably his most underwhelming stat.

Checking: 8.5/10 - This is where the numbers on Modanos card did not add up. His checking is stellar, only a step below Lindros. He can bump players off the puck from a short distance away and when lining someone up he will crush them. His weakness is the bigger bodied players like lindros and even byfuglien.

Defense 8.5/10 - Modano is a true two way forward. He is almost always in the correct position, but his stick checking could be better, which brings him down a bit. Also, his faceoffs are sort of sub par so when matched up with the toews and the bergerons he seems to lose a bit more.

Awareness: 10/10 - Modano is one of the only players id give a 10/10 here, he is always in position for a one timer or a good pass and always in the right place on defense. No complaints here.
