It wasn't exactly blatant, but having seen a few angles, it looks pretty clear that Alexis' foot was caught and dragged just as he was planting to explode out of the turn. Definite foul, definite pen. Anyone disagree/have a camera angle that shows a lack of contact?

No dive. Confirmed by both Wrighty and cunt Owen at half time. You could say he went down a bit too easy, but you can see his foot being dragged away, you can't fake that.
Second angle clearly shows his right foot clipped. I don't understand the outrage at all.

It's not the kind of penalty I like to see given, but I've seen worse. Far far worse.
It was a penalty cause there was some contact with his foot (and the defender obviously knew that judging from his reaction), the problem is that Sanchez was already somewhat falling anyway.
I think he pigeon for the penalty.

Meh, I think it was close, but none of the angles show clear, actual contact. I think Sanchez made the most of it and did a good job of it. That's on the defender for sliding aggressively in the box. Big risk.
Edit: There was likely contact. The defender didn't contest it at all.
