Gogeta and Critical Hits
The Dupe/Ability/Potential Unlocked system brought quite a decent amount of deepness in regards to character development, one of this being the controversial -in Gogeta's case- Critical Hit skill, whose definition, copy-pasted from Koalasan's sticky, is:
"CRITICAL:
There a chance to get a critical on attack.
A critical will ignore the enemy DEF and will hit as if it would have type advantage on any type enemy.
The higher the skill level, the higher the chance for a critical hit."
So, APPARENTLY (I'll explain why later in this post) what Gogeta always does with his passive (minus the flat ATK increase), is now a possibility for every base SSR rarity card and up.
Only thing is, I think it's not exactly the same thing.
Every Gogeta user knows Gogeta's Damage is almost always the same against everyone (only varies depending on DEF, which Gogeta does NOT ignore, see him against PHT LSSJ Broly); also every Gogeta user knows Gogeta deals 50% more damage against everyone, as if his opponent was always an EXTREME PHY foe; lastly, and this part is crucial for this reasoning, every consistent Gogeta user noticed that, sometimes, he deals more damage, as if he effectively did critical hit.
Now, I'm not going deep with the maths and I could provide screenshots to further prove the following approximate calculations, only I cannot atm, but with numbers:
- Gogeta with SA10, with Super Saiyan link active and double Gogeta leader, deals around 297.000 points of damage against Quest 18-5 Whis;
- Gogeta (SA10, SS link, double Gogeta lead) sometimes deals around 380.000 dmg pts, roughly and thoretically the +25% (additional type advantage) and 0 DEF Damage the definition of a Critical would do.
To conclude, my thought is, Gogeta's passive does not count as a Critical, it is his passive, and his damage is susceptible of Critical chance (type advantage, so +25% on the final damage, and foe's DEF to 0), and Crit Chance is not an useless skill on him, instead being ultimately, possibly, more effective for him than for any other character due to it's damage being calculated on top of his already all-powerful Critical-like passive.
Sorry about the possibly messy formatting, I'm in a hurry and tried to be as clear as I possibly could at the moment; I'm also on mobile, so there's that.
Thanks for reading, what do you think about this matter?
