Hannah Dunswerth/Masterpiece
Name: Hannah Dunswerth/Masterpiece
Age: 18
Appearance: Hannah is 5', Dirty Blond, scrawny build. She typically wears loose clothes with long sleeves to hide scars from her trigger event while she is in her civilian identity. As Masterpiece she wears a painters smock, a scarf as opposed to a mask, a pair of goggles and a beanie. And the color, oh god the color. The color scheme of her ensemble would be best as what would happen if Tie Dye and a Rainbow had a kid. For both practical and aesthetic reasons, the costume is covered in every variety of paint that she can make. Surprisingly, despite the fact that this blend of colors should result in an eyesore, it actually blends seamlessly.
Mentality: Hannah is extremely carefree and happy-go-lucky, preferring to use her powers to make art all over the city. She isn’t the type to go out and seek a fight, preferring to flee if it looks like things will turn violent. She does have a bit of an ego when it comes to her work though.
Backstory: Hannah is from a small town near Ashton. At school she cultivated a love of every kind of art. By her junior year she was starting to go to exhibitions across the state. However during one of her biggest opening Gala a boiler exploded and she ended up being trapped in a wing of the Gallery. She stood in the corner, watching the paint melt off the paintings and clutched her own. At this point she triggered and used her abilities to speed out of the building, ending up miles away by the time she stopped. Carefully she made her way back and reunited with her family. She had no interest in the Wards, so she decided to practice her ability until she had it fully under control. Now that she has settled into her Freshmen year in Ashton University's prestigious art program with a full ride scholarship she's decided to have some fun and paint the city.
Resources: She does have a part time job at a local art supply store, but that pays just minimum wage.
Alignment: Hannah considers herself to be neutral in the whole cape scene. She just wants to make her art and have fun.
Equipment: To go with the motif, Masterpiece made a 6 foot Paintbrush that she stores the paint she produces in. She tends to use Yellow and Purple on it, just in case she needs a weapon.
Specializations: Besides her skill at artistry, she doesn’t have any useful skills.
Power: Masterpiece is able to create a liquid of varying colors and effects. This paint will spread out across surfaces at 1 m/s, or instantaneously spreading 2 meters from the point of contact with Masterpiece, with a max area increase of 5 m^2 per seconds. She needs to have line of sight to spread the paint beyond the initial area, with a max range of 30 feet. The paint will adhere to surfaces and is nontoxic, only lasting for 24 hours, though the effect of the paint will fall off after about ½ an hour. She can drain the paint, and store it in something.
Effects Corresponding to Color
- Red: Is incredibly hot to the touch with a max increase if 40 Kelvin(100 Fahrenheit). It will ignite flammable materials after 5 seconds, it will start to burn flesh after 15 seconds with 3rd degree burns occurring after 25 seconds. Objects that are difficult to burn will ignite after 45 seconds, melting some metals.
- Orange: Reinforces the surface it is on. The increase in toughness is roughly equal to a 12 inches of steel.
- Yellow: Significantly reduces the weight of the object Yellow has been applied and speeds up anything that crosses the surface. However, without an application of Green, it is difficult to stop moving.
- Green: Objects that touch the surface will stick to it.
- Blue: Anything that moves on the surface will slide around. If Green, Yellow and Blue are mixed, then a person could walk on that surface, regardless of incline, and would also enable controlled and fast movement on the surface.
- Purple: Any object with Purple on it becomes 3x heavier to everyone except Masterpiece.
- Clear: Negates the effects of any other paints applied to the surface or that Clear is near.
- White: Emits a bright light
- Grey: Grey paint can be used in the 3rd dimension, however, it requires at connection to a solid, fixed surface, like the ground, to become solid. While it is fragile by itself, and would be broken by a strong wind, other paints can be applied to it, like Orange to reinforce it, or using Grey with Green to connect 2 objects.
- Black: The surface that Black touches will become brittle and easily broken.
She has layered Orange over her costume to make it extremely durable, Green has been applied to the boots and gloves to make travel on any surface stable. A touch of White has been added to the scarf to obscure her identity.
She also has a minor Thinker power that gives her an innate understanding of color and visual arts in general.
Versatility: Masterpiece has been experimenting with all the different combos and synergies since she triggered at 15.
Example:
“Here we see the legendary artiste Masterpiece beautifying the underside of the Ashton’s hideous bridges.” Masterpiece narrates to no one in particular as she hangs from the underside of one of the bridges across the Pearl River. Her paint begins to spread across the bridge, extending to the sides of the bridge. Once she’s done she walks along the side, hopping onto the sidewalk.
“Stop right there!” *A PRT officer shouts as Masterpiece climbs over the side of the bridge.”
“Huh?” Masterpiece eloquently responds, starting to lay down some Blue and Green.
“Miss, we’re going to need you to come to with us.” He says as two more approach.
“How about No.” She firmly states as she draw a line and then a wall using a mix of Grey and Orange to create a barrier between her and the PRT. As they start to shout, she plants her brush against the side of the bridge and spreads some Blue, Yellow and Green as she speeds away.
