Base Byfuglien Review
Hey, I'm here with yet another review! I've done Blake Wheeler and Mats Zuccarello, but now I got to review Byfuglien. Great player, I'll show you why
Synergy: Tape To Tape (TT) Country: USA Team: Winnipeg Jets Rating: 88 Height: 6 foot 5 inches Does he have a MOV? Yes
Skating: 7.5/10 I'd say his skating is pretty average. He's in the league average. You can easily adapt with him, but be careful. Don't use him to catch up to your opponent (unless you know his defensive parter is slower) because he probably wont. I'd say this isn't his strengh but its not a weakness either
Shooting: 8/10 Byfuglien has a hell of a shot. Great accuracy for a defenseman and incredible power, especially his slapper. If you like defenseman with good slappers, he's the one to get. I have him on my first powerplay unit paired up with McDonagh, and they are able to produce. If your team lacks of offense, consider this player as an option.
Hands and Deking: 5.5/10 I would say this is his weakness. Byfuglien is a big and very tall human, so I use him more as a "tank" than a deker. I suggest to pair him up with a quick agile defenseman, like maybe Reilly, Vatanen, Ghostisbehere, OEL, etc. That makes thing equal on that pairing
Bodychecking: 10/10 Well, his nickname is "Big Buff". That probably gives you a hint that he can hit. Well, the one that came up with that name was a genius because it fits him perfectly. If he's defending a one on one situation, I take the risk and hit instead of pokechecking because I know he rarely misses his hits. This is one reason why I bought Byfuglien (and because I'm a Jets Fan). If you want a big hitter, he's the guy
Defense: 9/10 Byfuglien's other strength is his defending. He can do pretty much anything you want; hit, poke check, stick likft, he does it all! He can also block shots, as he is one of the biggest players in the league. This is another reason why I chose to buy him
Other strengths:
Shot blocking: Byfuglien is 6 foot 5 inches and about 260 pounds, so he can block as many shots as you want. If I can, I always use him to block shots.
Byfuglien is one of the rare players that are actually as good as forward and defenseman! If you aren't satisfied with his defense, try him as forward, and vice-versa.
I play him on my first defensive pairing with Ryan Suter
I hope this helps you and might convince you to buy this great hockey player.
Have a good day!
