89 Jonathan Toews Review

Other

Toews has been a player that I just acquired recently but after playing eight games with him I can confidently say that this is one of my favourite base cards this year. Here is my review:

Jonathan Toews

89 Overall, WW Synergy, 8GP 3G 4A, All games played in Div 4.

2nd Line on a line with 87 Logan Couture and 88 Max Patches. 1st PP with Phil Kessel 87 and Eric Lindros 81.

Stats 90 or Over: 93 Deking 91 Hand-Eye 91 Passing 93 Puck Control 90 Slap Shot Accuracy 91 Wrist Shot Accuracy 90 Offensive Awareness 94 Defensive Awareness 93 Stick Checking 90 Blocking 95 Poise

Stats 75 or Under: 75 Fighting

Skating: 8.75/10 Toews isn't a burner but did get a surprisingly big amount of breakaways for me. Even if there was one defender in front of him his silky hands let him get by defenders. Toews could do all the skating I needed him to, just he wasn't burning anyone

Shooting: 9/10 Toews has great accuracy on both his wrist shot and slap shot, and scored three goals for me in eight games. While this may not seem like too many to people on this sub, he was my leading scorer during this time. I do not score too many goals, and I like to give all my lines equal minutesHe had two nice wristers and a deflection. Toews frequently made scoring chances out of poor shots, because of his great shot.

Hands: 9.8/10 I cannot give a ten as I have not tried some of the elite cards, but this card has some of the best hands I have used so far. He can dangle anyone, make passes through tight spaces, and got so many deflections that I resorted to only taking low point shots when he was on the ice. His hands were great, and one of the best of any base card I have used. Probably the best thing on this card.

Defense: 9/10 A great stick allows Toews to poke anyone off the puck, and he constantly intercepts passes in the zone. He is a good defensive center, though I never noticed him laying people out, he was always causing turnovers and those led to chances.

Leadership: 10/10 It's Toews
