MOV 90 Gaudreau Review
Movember Gaudreau was an immediate must have for me. I had never owned a movember card before this one, it took me a long time to save and considering he's my favourite player from my favourite team I thought it would be a fitting first MOV. He is currently on my first line with base Pavelski and Seguin and has potted 14 goals and 12 assists for 26 points in 25 games. (I have played more games with him but his stats reset)
Skating: 9/10
When this kid gets skating he can absoultely fly. with 94 acceleration and 95 speed there isn't much stopping him when he starts picking up speed. The only con to his skating, which is more a lack of physicality, is he can get bumped off the puck pretty easily if he gets caught without much speed.
Shooting: 8.5/10
While his wrister and slapper stats are all above 90, he will net you some sweet snipes. For me personally I find his wrist shot deadly when you get into the slot zone. Which is where he gets about half of his goals. Another large portion of his goals actually come off rebounds. With insane puck control and hand-eye at 95 and 96 respectively, he can pick up pucks like no ones business and pop them in from any angle. Combine that with a 94 Off. Awareness he will always be in position, if you see him streaking down towards the goal I recommend shooting low, he will find a goal.
Hands: 10/10
This is where the kid definetely hits the spot. With the mentioned stats above, combined with 95 agility and a whopping 98 deking, he is practically unstoppable if you know how to use your hands. His puck control is flawless and he beats defenders with ease. Not to mention the 96 passing will get you nearly the best tape to tape passes out there.
Checking: 5/10
With a 74 Bodychecking rating, you obviously aren't going to by lining up hulk smash's with Johnny. That being said, he doesn't take a hit like a bitch. He may be small in stature but if you aren't skating straight into your opponents ribcage he shouldn't get rocked too many times. He has a strength of 83 which isn't the highest but it's enough to keep plays alive down low in the attacking end.
Defense: 7.5/10
With a Def. Awareness of 87 you won't find him out of position very often. For me, the only things my wingers are really useful for in my own end is shot blocking and stick checking. If you can block decently, the rating doesn't matter too much but it is only sitting at 74. His stick checking on the other hand is at 89, this is really where he strives in your own end to poke those pucks from the D, giving him a clear cut breakway with those wheels.
Overall: 9/10
He is by far my best player and the most fun to use. Even if I know it's a mistake I'll try and control the play with just him in the attacking end just because he is so fun to use. Not to mention he is currently on a 5 game point streak since returning from injury with 9 points in that span, playing on a team with 3 equal lines which gives him more opportunities to score against other teams depth lines. The kid is only gonna go up and he has no ceiling. Next up will be MOV Giordano once I gather up enough scratch to earn him a roster spot.
TL;DR MOV Gaudreau will slot in with any line combination, and is an absolute blast to play with.
