Base Stamkos Review

Stamkos goes for around 160k. He has mediocre faceoffs so I play him on left wing with DC Manny and MOV Kucherov on the RW. Being a Caps fan I basically use him like a lighter weight OV.

Skating - 9.0/10

Stammer can wheel. He isn't like Sullivan fast but he is pretty quick with and without the puck. Cuts fairly quickly to get away shots or avoid defenders.

Hands - 9.5/10

His hands are definitely up there. No matter if he is shooting a one timer or getting a tip off of a point shot he has great mitts. Plus his passes get through a lot with TT and CG activated.

Shooting - 9.5/10

I am sure there are better shooters out there in the game but I haven't played them. His wrister just goes in from all over the place. And his slapshot is nearly automatic coming in off the left wing shooting high short side. If you get the space you are going to score.

Checking - 6/10

He can bump a guy off the puck if you hit them at full speed but he isn't going to truck anyone. Poke checking seems fine but nothing amazing going on here. You are definitely paying for this guy for offense.

Defense - 8.0/10

I do have him on my penalty kill because if I get a chance he can bury it and he has the good wheels. He intercepts pucks if he is in position and I haven't noticed him being a liability in this area just not especially adapt at defense.

Awareness - 9.0/10

Offensive awareness is top notch and he tends to be in position for passes, one timers, and tips as needed. Defensively as I mentioned under defense he is more average.

Overall rating - 91%

I think he is around a point per game since I got him.

Final thoughts - I am not an offensive dynamo but adding Stammer to my lineup has really helped since he scores from all over. Definitely worth getting if you have about 150k and need a boost to your offense. I prefer him to HERO cards because he can hide behind Manny on the load screen and people don't quit out. :)
