MOV Stone Player review
So figured I got some MOVs lying around, most of them I hate playing with, most of them are a pain in my eyes everytime I see them some I actually find okay to play with, Mark Stone is a Little bit of both
Skating: 5/10
So you know that time in Mario kart when you pick up the spammable speed mushroom with Peach and just spam your way to the first position... This just isnt one of those players, Mark Stone is Bowser who keeps getting hit by shells, runs over every bananapeel on the map and falls down into the ravine. He gets around, maybe not when you would like him to get there but it's understandable at Speed 84, Acceleration 85 and agility at 86.
Shooting: 8/10
With Mark not exactly being well a stellar skater... I guess where he shines, or maybe at the very least glistens every once in a while has got to be his shooting, at mid to high ratings (SSA 87, SSP 89, WSA 87, WSP 88) across the boards here you will find that he might not be Ovechkin or Macinnis, he does fairly well at hitting the net and occasionally scoring a goal or two, mainly for me he's lighting up slapshots from the point and hitting onetimers as he's on his offside in my 3rd defensive pairing. 25 games in and he's got 6 goals with very limited playing time.
Hands: 6/10
Well, I mean his name is pretty accurate, this is not a man with silky ass mitts - He laughs at that, Ha! But the one upside to his hands are his passing because of his PP synergy, maybe even hand-eye once you put him in front of the net (Tried it briefly but as my fourth line was Stone - Sedin - Sedin he had to go, as my opponents constantly got 5 on 2s because noone made it back) but alas, the man has hands of Stone and thats it.
Checking: 7/10
Checking is also one of Stones best sides IF and only if you disregard his discipline or lack there of - First game first shift got him sent to the showers with a pounding hit at open ice, seems to get alot of elbowings and charging penalties aswell but those can be avoided if you manage to glide into hits. With a pretty big body and body checking 87, agression 88 and strength at 89 he will flatten smaller to medium sized players and atleast bump bigger ones.
Defense: 6/10
He's more like a big piece of meat in the defensive zone then an actual defender, I find myself trying to control him more then I do most other players, mostly because he seems to get lost easily and lose players in the defensive zone, def.awr 85, shot blocking at 80 and stick checking at 85 might not seem that bad, but coupled with his will to take penalties there's not that big of an upside to his defensive play.
Synergies: PP HH T
25gp - 6g - 3a - +2 - 32PIM
Played first few games in 4th lite with the Sedins and since then in LD position on my 3rd pairing
Verdict: 6,5/10
This is not a card that will bolster many lineups, he's lighting up three synergies for me but at the moment he is dead weight - might be a good pickup at a low price point and he might get decent with enough upgrades. But right now I can't recommend him.
