That appears to be one of the *Steatoda* (sometimes called "false widows") - possibly [*Steatoda bipunctata*](http://bugguide.net/node/view/53861) or a close relative.

This slow-moving, nickel-to-quarter-sized spider was found about an hour east of Ottawa, ON while I was gathering firewood
