Efficient skill leveling for SSR and UR cards
I made this post as I recently have dug up further regarding skill leveling of SSR and UR out of dupe cards as a follow-up from u/TheOfficialTluds' post along with how I somehow pulled out 2nd and 3rd copy of SSR Initial Hanayo.
(TL;DR? Just jump down to the "Final words" section below)
Before we begin
For reference, the following is the old skill EXP chart for SSR and UR:
| SSR Skill Level | requires __ skill EXP from previous level | for a total of __ skill EXP from level 1 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0 | 0 |
| 2 | 300 | 300 |
| 3 | 600 | 900 |
| 4 | 1200 | 2100 |
| 5 | 1800 | 3900 |
| 6 | 2700 | 6600 |
| 7 | 3600 | 10200 |
| 8 | 4500 | 14700 |
| UR Skill Level | requires __ skill EXP from previous level | for a total of __ skill EXP from level 1 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0 | 0 |
| 2 | 1000 | 1000 |
| 3 | 2000 | 3000 |
| 4 | 4000 | 7000 |
| 5 | 6000 | 13000 |
| 6 | 9000 | 22000 |
| 7 | 12000 | 34000 |
| 8 | 15000 | 49000 |
And this is the current revamped EXP chart for those cards:
| SSR Skill Level | requires __ skill EXP from previous level | for a total of __ skill EXP from level 1 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0 | 0 |
| 2 | 200 | 200 |
| 3 | 400 | 600 |
| 4 | 800 | 1400 |
| 5 | 1200 | 2600 |
| 6 | 2400 | 5000 |
| 7 | 3200 | 8200 |
| 8 | 4500 | 12700 |
| UR Skill Level | requires __ skill EXP from previous level | for a total of __ skill EXP from level 1 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0 | 0 |
| 2 | 300 | 300 |
| 3 | 600 | 900 |
| 4 | 1500 | 2400 |
| 5 | 3000 | 5400 |
| 6 | 5000 | 10400 |
| 7 | 7500 | 17900 |
| 8 | 12000 | 29900 |
From the follow-up post by u/TheOfficialTluds above, we learned that SSR and UR gives out a lot more EXP out of duplicates of the same SSR/UR at level 1. This is because, as a fodder duplicate card, they give out the same amount of EXP as the required skill EXP to level up to the next level from their current level using the OLD chart!
For example: UR with skill level 2 requires 2000 skill EXP to reach skill level 3 from the old chart above. Thus, if you practice away duplicate UR with skill level 2 to another same UR, it also gives you 2000 skill EXP.
With that said, we got the following table of how many skill EXP can a duplicate gives out when the duplicate is at their current skill level:
| SSR Skill Level | gives out __ skill EXP to the same SSR |
|---|---|
| 1 | 300 |
| 2 | 600 |
| 3 | 1200 |
| 4 | 1800 |
| 5 | 2700 |
| 6 | 3600 |
| 7 | 4500 |
| 8 | 6600 |
| UR Skill Level | gives out __ skill EXP to the same UR | |:-:|:-:|:-:| | 1 | 1000 | | 2 | 2000 | | 3 | 4000 | | 4 | 6000 | | 5 | 9000 | | 6 | 12000 | | 7 | 15000 | | 8 | 22000 |
Wait, how do you know that a duplicate SSR at skill level 8 gives out 6600 skill EXP to the same SSR, and a duplicate UR at skill level 8 gives out 22000 skill EXP to the same UR? Good question. If you compare the old SSR and UR skill EXP chart above with v4.0 R skill leveling post by u/juhneeee, you'll notice that their skill EXP chart are similar, only with larger numbers! The old SSR skill EXP chart is simply multiplied by 30 from R skill EXP chart, and the old UR skill EXP chart is simply multiplied by 100 from R skill EXP chart (As another note, I also suspected the same thing also applies to SR, with their skill EXP chart simply being multiplied by 10 from R skill EXP chart). From the R skill leveling post there, we also found out that R card at skill level 8 gives out 220 skill EXP. Thus, I simply multiplied the 220, by 30 for SSR and by 100 for UR.
Calculating the skill EXP difference and benefits
Now that we found out how many skill EXP is required to reach certain skill level for SSR and UR along with how many skill EXP can a duplicate gives out, we can come up with the following conclusion:
| SSR Skill Level | requires __ skill EXP from level 1 | and gives out __ skill EXP at current level | Skill EXP difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0 | 300 | +300 |
| 2 | 200 | 600 | +400 |
| 3 | 600 | 1200 | +600 |
| 4 | 1400 | 1800 | +400 |
| 5 | 2600 | 2700 | +100 |
| 6 | 5000 | 3600 | -1400 |
| 7 | 8200 | 4500 | -3700 |
| 8 | 12700 | 6600 | -6100 |
| UR Skill Level | requires __ skill EXP from level 1 | and gives out __ skill EXP at current level | Skill EXP difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0 | 1000 | +1000 |
| 2 | 300 | 2000 | +1700 |
| 3 | 900 | 4000 | +3100 |
| 4 | 2400 | 6000 | +3600 |
| 5 | 5400 | 9000 | +3600 |
| 6 | 10400 | 12000 | +1600 |
| 7 | 17900 | 15000 | -2900 |
| 8 | 29900 | 22000 | -7900 |
If you are comparing between feeding one duplicate with skill supports before feeding the duplicate away to the same card and feeding both one duplicate and several skill supports right away to the same card, simply subtract -300 for SSR and -1000 for UR to the Skill EXP difference on the above chart and we'll get the following benefits:
| Having a SSR fodder with Skill Level __ | has the benefit of __ against SSR fodder with Skill Level 1 along with skill supports | |:-:|:-:|:-:|:-:| | 1 | 0 | | 2 | +100 | | 3 | +300 | | 4 | +100 | | 5 | -200 | | 6 | -1700 | | 7 | -4000 | | 8 | -6400 |
| Having a UR fodder with Skill Level __ | has the benefit of __ against UR fodder with Skill Level 1 along with skill supports | |:-:|:-:|:-:|:-:| | 1 | 0 | | 2 | +700 | | 3 | +2100 | | 4 | +2600 | | 5 | +2600 | | 6 | +600 | | 7 | -3900 | | 8 | -8900 |
Final words
From above, we can conclude that:
- It's more beneficial to feed duplicate SSR with skill supports until the duplicate has skill level 3 before feeding away to the same SSR.
- It's more beneficial to feed duplicate UR with skill supports until the duplicate has skill level 4 or 5 before feeding away to the same UR, although feel free to stop at level 3 because the difference is negligible.
- Anything beyond the said level and it's starting to go downhills!
Do note about the following factors:
- Assuming that you do obtain duplicates of SSR/UR, is it more beneficial if you were to raise the skill compared to unlocking more slots? You don't want to raise a time-based skill unless you're an Easy/Normal player, do you?
- Do you have UR/SSR cards in your mind that feels more worthy to raise their skill level on, other than duplicates you got if any? You should consider how many skill supports you'll need to raise the skill level of a duplicate, and the effort it takes to get the skill supports especially if you're F2P.
