[K-On! Series Spoilers] So we all know KyoAni went above and beyond with their adaptation of K-On! and added original material, but how much did they actually add? (Both seasons+OVAs+movie) (x-post from /r/k_on)

The answer is:

A TON

Here's a Google Doc detailing every second of original material in both seasons, the OVAs, and the movie. The tl;drs for each entry are at the top. The tl;dr for the entire series is at the bottom of the doc (and immediately below this). To see an outline of the doc, on desktop, click "Help" and search "Document outline". The total runtime of the series (with OP/ED/credits) is 17 hours, 20 minutes, and 7 seconds. The amount of original material comes up to 15 hours, 10 minutes, and 12 seconds, which is 87.5%.

Without OP/ED/credits, the runtime is 15 hours, 4 minutes, and 22 seconds. Original material is 12 hours, 14 minutes, and 27 seconds of that, which is 81.2%.

And a little fun fact: All of the anime original episodes are in Season 2. K-On!! Episode 3, K-On!! Episode 5, K-On!! Episode 10, K-On!! Episode 23, and the K-On!! S2 OVA.
