Do you remember the scent of Saturday mornings?
Do you remember the scent of Saturday mornings?
Oscar's voice, and how much we anticipated
with every cell in our body 8am TV?
And how you sat in the couch like a frail
bird and rainy water and showers
and caramel coffee was there.
And how you
always
seemed
to send me
into a quaint
place
of
delirium.
Do you remember the taste of aunt claire's pies?
and the tugboat toys and how TV was tranquil
and the commercials didn't bother us.
And how the bleakness,
that leak
in the back
of our
heads
had not yet
set
in.
Do you remember me knocking on your door everyday?
your eyes barely reaching the hole
but you could still tell it was me.
And do you remember
how the sea
sailed to
the shore
and how
we drowned
and
drifted
apart.
Do you remember
how time was time?
And when it got longer
and shorter at the
same time.
and how you
used to say
"sorry
I'm so out of breath
right now."
