Base Ryan Mcdonagh review
Hey you? Are you looking for a tremendously tremendous player to strengthen you defensive squad? Well, I know a guy. His name is Ryan Mcdonagh. I'm telling you, he's the one that will help. I will prove it with a detailed review...
Name: Ryan Mcdonagh Position: LD Age: 27 Number: 27 Rating: 88 Birthplace: USA Team: New York Rangers Does he have a MOV? No
He plays on my first line LD with John Klingberg. He has 22 points in 43 games
Bodychecking: 8/10 Mcdonagh can easily nail your opponent. When I have him, I let the opponent go in the corner just so I can hit him using Mcdonagh, its very effective. He can hit anywhere you want. Corners, center ice, its great! This is definitely something I enjoy about him, and it gives you tons of options on how to defend.
Defense: 9/10 The most solid player defensively on my defensive squad. Holy s***, the guys not fun to play against. Like mentioned previously in this review, he hits very well, which is fun. His ability to block shots is absolutely incredible. He can block alot of shots, from anywhere anytime. His pokechecking as well helps alot. He denies alot of defensive rushes. Something that stands out though would be his positioning. For some reason, he's always where you want him to be. You have so many options with him. I don't know about you, but I love options.
Skating: 8/10 Mcdonagh is a good skater, but he isn't incredible. His speed is 88, which is good to me. His speed is just fine to come back on the rush to help. He can adjust himself to a good speed. Its not his best stat, but its still good. Its not something that bothers me too much, because I love his card overall. I haven't had any problems with it so far
Shooting: 7/10 His shot isn't bad, he has 5 goals and 17 assists in 43 games for me. I have him on my second powerplay line, paired up with Klingberg. He got a few goals for me. He might not have alot of goals, but he can hit the net at least. Unlike other players ahem… Patrick Stefan… ahem, he can hit the net. Use that to your advantage
Agility and stick handling: 6.5/10 This is not his stongest stat. I do use him up and down the ice sometimes, but not as much as my other defensemen (Klingberg and Pietrangelo for example). I would qualify him more as a "tank". Some HUT players are really skilled when it comes to deking, and some people can make him work.
Honorable stat: Mcdonagh is really good to start an offensive rush. I paired him with Klingberg, and the rack up tons of assists due to that
To sum it up, I really enjoy him. Great overall. If you want to strengthen your defensive squad, get him.
I will write more reviews soon, have a good day everyone
