Incompetent NBA GMs- Billy King

Let me apologize to David Khan, I thought of him as the second coming of Lucifer when in reality it is Billiard King.

I recommend you close this tab if you lose your patience very easily...

Tenure as 76ers GM

Billiard King of Duke University started his 9 year tenure in Philly on May 19th of 1998, he miraculously was able to contain himself and didn't commit any completely idiotic trades, just a couple of bad ones throughout. The worst trade he committed in my opinion is

February 22, 2001: Traded Toni Kukoc, Nazr Mohammed, Theo Ratliff and Pepe Sanchez to the Atlanta Hawks for Roshown McLeod and Dikembe Mutombo.

Only because Mutumbo played 2 seasons for them before being traded. If any of you know why I'd love to know.

Besides that, Philly was a pretty mediocre team up until he was fired.

Oh shit, I forgot he couldn't build a title contender around AI.

The Destruction of the Nets

On July 14th of 2010 the Nets made a decision that will haunt them for eternity, signing Billiard King. This was right after the Nets were bought by Mikhail Prokhorov who intended to move the team out of the shithole that is New Jersey ^(sorry). Billiard had a couple of years before he had to worry about putting asses in seats, he could have helped develop young players like Courtney Lee and Brook Lopez, but instead he traded away Lee, who at the time looked like he could become a solid player, for the older Troy Murphy.

^what ^the ^fuck ^billy?

Had it been 2008 that trade wouldn't have had been so shit, but Murphy who was coming off a 14 point per game season, only played in 18 games before being traded again. Courtney Lee was averaging 12 in his sophomore year.

His next move was a great trade at the time, trading for star PG Deron Williams

February 23rd, 2011 Traded Derrick Favors, Devin Harris, Troy Murphy and two Future 1st round pick for Deron Williams and Brandan Wright.

had Deron's career not been destroyed by injuries this wouldn't be here, so this was just bad luck for Billiard and the Nets.

March 14, 2012 Traded Shawne Williams, Mehmet Okur and a two first round pick to Portland for Gerald Wallace.

this trade doesn't look so bad now does it? Billiard King traded away the rotting corpse of Mehmet Okur, the forgettable Shawne Williams and a 1st round pick for former all star Gerald Wallace, who they could have signed in the offseason (they gave him the max)

that the pick turned out to be Damian Lillard.

King made the pick top-3 protected, because he thought that, "there were only three sure-fire picks in the 2012 draft: Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Thomas Robinson."

Lillard won ROY and is one of the top point guards in the league, Gerald Wallace played like shit for the rest of his career.

what the fuck billy

Next up they traded for the 31 year old, Joe Johnson. They didn't really give up much for him, just a bunch of end-of-the-bench players and a couple worthless picks. Not bad if you don't think about the huge contract that came attached to him.

July 2013, Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Marshon Brooks, and 3 unprotected first-round draft, plus abilities to swap another draft pick for Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Jason Terry, and DJ White.

Kevin Garnett was traded a year and a half later for Thaddeus Young. KG retired from the league soon after.

Paul Pierce left the team in the summer of 2014.

Jason Terry was gone at the end of the season, and who the fuck is DJ White?

I forgot to mention that one of those picks turned out to be Jaylen Brown and the next could probably be Markelle Fultz.

#WHAT THE FUCK BILLY

After that the most notable thing Billiard did was waive Deron Williams.

players Billiard missed out on

I am not saying these guys would have become what they are today in Brooklyn.

-Derrick Favors

-Enes Kanter

-Gorgui Dieng

-Draymond Green

-Damian Lillard

-Jaylen Brown

I am truly sorry for Brooklyn Net fans, they had to endure the bullshit of Billiard King and didn't even get a spooky team in return... they just got Anthony Bennett.

^at ^least ^you ^have ^Sean ^Marks
