Game doesn't recognize autosave

I am running Fo4 on a PC and I saved before doing a settlement mission then built up the settlement, then it autosaved and I quit the game. 
A day later I open up Fo4 and it only recognizes the save before the settlement. I checked the save folder and it shows the autosaves, but the loading option doesn't allow me to load the game with that autosave. Do I just do it all over again, or is there a way to force Fo4 to load from that save? Thank you for taking the time to read this.
