[COMC] After many years of flirting with the hobby, I finally took the dive last year.

COMC

After playing boardgames sporadically for the last 5 or so years, I finally decided to give in and embrace it fully. Here's what I got.

I think what really pushed my interest up a notch was playing my first game of Risk: Legacy when it first came out a few times with friends, and although we never finished that board, it left a distinct mark in my head. I was able to get my own copy and finish it in December (as well as frame it). Yes, I've heard all about how Seafall is (or isn't), but I'll be getting my first taste of it later this week.

Not pictured is Codenames, as I have the insert for both in the Codenames: Pictures box.

My top 4 games as of now are:

  • Skull - A fabulous bluffing game that always leave me wanting more.

  • A Feast for Odin - I was initially worried this would have the same issue I have with Roll for the Galaxy (it can be a pain to teach/ it never feels like there is enough player interaction) but thus far it has been easy to explain and although there could be more interaction, the fact that I am always busy on my own turn puzzling things out makes up for the time I spend in other games twiddling my thumbs.

  • Food Chain Magnate - This game can get so intense and unforgiving. I don't get to play it as often as I'd like, but love how different it feels in tone to the rest of my collection.

  • Targi - The cleverness of this game has really enthralled me, and I can't wait to try out the expansion once I get my paste-ups finished.

If you want to see how I rated any of these games, my BGG account is right here.

If you have any questions feel free to ask away!
