Ethernet isn't working
I built a desktop about 5 months ago and used a wifi adapter that connects via PCI. The router was accross the room and I didn't want a cable running accross the floor so it was my best option at the time and the lag wasn't noticable. I just moved and my computer is too far away for wifi to be a viable option in my new office. So I networked some cableing through the basement. This is the first time it has been connected via ethernet cable and it doesn't seem to be working. When I checked my device manager only the wifi network adapter exists. I verified that the cable works by connecting it to my laptop. When I connect the cable to the ethernet port the LED ethernet light does light up. I'm not sure what to do next. Could someone help a fella out?
Edit: Solved - I'm an idiot... Mobo Driver. I remember I purposely didn't install that driver knowing I was going to be using WIFI. I've been at this for hours. It took 10 minutes to download a 100 MB via wifi so I'm very glad you guys helped me to get this working. Thanks guys!
