What would you do?

Hi All,

Obvious nube here. So, I would like all your input. I want to buy a solid starter. The use of this is for home defense, shooting at the range, going to a friends property and doing some target practice and some walk through simulations. It will not get heavy use. But with the options out there, I would like some of your expertise and in put on what I should purchase.

Budget: I'd like to keep it around $600, but can flex if there is an advantage.

Caliber: No preference, but I'd prefer a barrel with more versatility

Where to buy recommendations are always welcome!
