The game changed me... the feels come back a year after.
I just... I need to say this. It has been a year since I finished the game. No way I am playing this again. It started innocently, but it turned out to be the heaviest fictional drama I ever experienced in any medium. And the finale... well... we all know.
A fictional drama... I recently watched great new tv show "Westworld". One of characters said about the fictional, injected memories of a tragedy, he said that "pain is always imagined".
I am an introvert and I usually develop strong attachtments with dreams, fictional characters, world, stories. Half of my life is happening in my head.
So it has been a year... now when time of the year and the weather are reminding me of the time when I played LiS all the emotions came back. This game just keeps proving that it is the most impactful fiction ever. I live in Poland, in a place that is in some ways similiar to american Northwest. The trees, the weather, the atmoshere... I love to walk in the forests or along the railroads, I love to explore cool abandoned places. Before I played LiS I loved my loneliness, I really enjoyed solitude. Now... I feel empty, trapped in a world of dreams, I feel like there is something missing. This interactive slice of life that allowed me to participate in an epic friendship of Max and Chloe is actually a mindjob. It gave me the taste of what relationship can be. And... it left me completely infatuated with Chloe. Damn, she is just beautifuly written, animated and voiced bunch of pixels. It is actualy quite sad and pathethic. I've met a few girls that are great, but still I've never met any that would spark real infatuation. I don't know... never seen type of girl that would like to hang out peacfully somewhere in the forests just enjoing the magic of relationship and talking about nostalgic, piratey, childhood fun. Before LiS relationships seemed fake and dull to me. Now I simply know how amazing it could be but... I think what Max and Chloe had, that kind of bond, romantic or just bromantic - is ultra rare. I am meeting new people but through all my life I've never felt that there is someone that could change my life and make it so adventorous and intense. Real life does seem to be just circulating around boring stuff and dreams are now like this iritating voice, whispering to the sound of silence that is real life.
Maybe I am addicted to intense emotions that I find through escapism and reality doesn't live up to my expectations.
What about You? Have You experienced any magical bond? Or like me You crave for this, feeling like it's almost impossible to actually happen?
