Call quality is embarassing

I am so tired of explaining why the call quality on my "high end Google phone" is so incredibly brutal. I constantly get people saying they can't hear me, I am muffled, I sound a hundred feet away, etc. I end up using a Samsung headset that I got with my note 3 (which had great call quality) to even remotely be heard. I am actually thinking of going back to the note 3 to fix this issue and selling off this stupid phone. I love its functionality, but unfortunately having a phone I can't take calls on for work is kind of a deal breaker.

I started a new job recently and was issued an iPhone (gave it back because I opted to keep my own phone) and I hate to admit it but the call quality was night and day. It just worked, all the time. Not an apple fan, but I have to say they have at least that going for them.
