Cleito SS316L Issues

So I bought an Aspire Cleito, and I've really enjoyed it with the kanthal 0.4 coils. I thought I'd try something different and got some 0.4 SS316l coils for it today.

With the new coil (in both watt/temp control modes), there is pretty much 0 flavor and a ridiculous amount of spitback. Has anyone had experience with this to know if I'm just doing something wrong or if there could be an issue with the coil? I'm pretty new to vaping, and I've never had issues like this before.

TC: 50 & 55w - moved from 380 to 470F trying to get flavor

WC: 40-60w trying to get flavor

I think I screwed something up with the first coil and somehow got juice straight down into it. I went ahead and tried a second one, and I'm not having any of those issues
