Looking for the man who saved my mother's life!!

Mahalo everyone! This is a repost from r/Helpmefind, I'm just really driven to find this soul.

I just want to thank him.

It was August 15, 2015 at Makena beach, aka Big Beach.

My mom was there with a friend, and as she turned to wave to the shore a massive wave knocked her down and she smacked her 4th and 5th cervical on a rock or a coral.

She remembers going completely limp and accepting death as an inevitability. It's damn weird typing these words.

Some random local, wearing red and white trunks and possibly a turquoise patterned white shirt. He reached into the water, picked her up gently and laid her on the beach until help arrived in the form of a very drunk man and his wife, also a tad drunk, who was a nurse. They, regardless of their level of intoxication, did an amazing job keeping her clear and immobilized until she got a neck stabilizer and sent to the hospital.

I just want to thank him or acknowledge his actions. If any of you guys in Hawaii know who this fellow might be, I just want to say thank you. My mom is still on this earth because of him and it's incredible that she is still alive.

Thank you kind stranger, I hope to shake your hand one day.

Edit: I should mention that all this happened without me there - I live in NY state and... well, she didn't tell me for 3 weeks because she didn't want to worry me! Moms will always protecting their children.
