I just told a friend about my recent cutting, and it turned out to be a good decision

Okay, so I just did something and I'm not completely sure why I did it actually... I have this one friend, and we used to be super close (became a bit less close when she moved to her dad, out of town), but we're still good friends. She already knew about my sh, because we have sleepovers, so she sees my scars and so on.

So, today, I felt like I had to tell someone about what I did a few days ago. Not because I wanted attention, but more because the fact that I had cut again was making me feel really bad. We talked and at some point I decided to tell her. Her reaction was really great. She asked me what I used, why I did it, told me I should take care of it, and of course, the inevitable 'you shouldn't do that'.

We're still talking and she keeps asking me things about it, just in a curious, 'I want to know this because I care about you' way, not the way people normally do.

It's just so nice, and I had to tell you guys, because I don't know, I felt like it

Edit: We kept on talking and at one point she asked me what I'd say to her mum when she'd see them. (A bit clarification: I'm really close with her mum and stepdad, because her twin brother is one of my best friends, so I was there like all the time during the past few years.) Apparently, her mum (and probably stepdad too) keep a watch on my arm, because they know about my self harm too. I know it's only because they care about me, but it still feels a little weird to hear that. It's not like I have a problem with it though, it kinda feels good to hear that people care about me so much that they keep an eye on me... (I mean, my own parents don't even watch me this closely, they think the last time I've cut is months ago)
