Unforgettable moment...
One night I was out with my friends. We went to the cinema to see a relatively new movie. There was literally no one there. This wasn't strange as where I lived was rural and it was only a small town. We were in the cinema and we were about half way through the movie when a scruffy middle aged man wearing old, stained clothes came in and sat a few rows behind us. Apart from him we were the only people in the cinema. During the movie he kept grunting and making weird noises. I was tempted to ask him could he be a little quieter but I didn't because I wasn't sure if he was mentally stable. When the movie was done we were walking to a McDonalds that was about 10 minutes walk away. I noticed the man was following us. I told my friends and they said "he might just be going home or something." In McDonalds we sat down after just ordering our meal. We were talking to each other when all of a sudden the man walked through the doors. He walked up to the counter to order his meal. He then yelled at the worker over something stupid like the milkshake machine being broken or something I can't quite remember. The worker tried to calm the situation by offering him a free large during but he continued to yell. I don't know why but for some stupid reason I shouted "hey! What's your problem, she's just being nice." The man looked over at me while reaching for his pocket. He pulled out a large kitchen knife. My heart dropped. I was certain I was going to die he plunged at me. As I flinched I closed my eyes. I heard a loud bang. The sound of a gunshot. For that split second I thought I was dead... but I wasn't. There was a cop looking at me asking if I was ok. The worker must have called I thought. Blood was splattered all over my face. The cop dropped me and my friends home that night. None of us spoke for the rest of the journey we just sat in silence. I guess we were all just shocked. I did sleep properly for two weeks after that. This happened five years ago yet I still remember it like it was yesterday. - @ShadowVigilante
