Broken

I dated a man for the last 14 months. Last night I went through his phone and found out that I'm august he met up with his ex girlfriend twice. After being pressed, he admitted that he made out with her. All throughout the course of our relationship he would occasionally(once a month or so), text her saying that he missed her, or mentioning how he saw photos where she looked pretty. Immediately following their make out he did a 360 and changed his ways. He was noticeable nicer and more caring with me, I never understood why. I would always ask and he would just tell me that I deserved to be with someone as sweet as myself. He admitted to me yesterday that he changed because he made out with her, realized it was wrong & realized he was in love with me. He wants to work it out and seems to be willing to do almost anything to make it work.I guess I am just looking for advice.
