New update 1.21.2 crashes on the Niantic logo.

I'm using an iPhone 5S (iOS 9.2.1) and my game has stopped working since the last update (1.21.2). I open the app, the white Niantic logo screen shows for less than 1 second and then crashes and it shuts down by itself. I've already deleted and re-downloaded the app but still can't play it. Does someone have the solution to this besides updating iOS? I didn't really wanna update my iPhone to iOS 10.2...

EDIT: Everything's fine now, I can play PoGo again. Had to update my iOS, thanks for all the replies.
