Aksis Chalenge: Face towards the supercharge plate or the teleport plate?

I was running WotM last night and got some conflicting strategy suggestions.

When empowered, I've always made a habit of getting into position, then facing forward and watching for Aksis to appear. If he doesn't, turn around and supercharge.

A guy in my group was preaching the opposite approach. Get in position, face backwards and watch for the supercharge plate to appear. If it doesn't, turn around and run to aksis.

We struggled but eventually got it down. It seems to me theres not too much difference, but I was wondering if anyone actually knows if theres a delay between teleporting into place and the supercharge appearing? Has anyone watched both the plate and the teleport location simultaneously? Thanks!
