I was left a small coin collection, I know nothing about coin collecting.

[Advice?]

I was left some metals and coins after a family members death. The metals are no problem, I'll keep these but I have no want to keep this collection but I know nothing about them and it seems no one in the family does either, which leads me to believe that there's not much value to the,.Some light research has confused me even more. Is there a place that I can take them to to be evaluated and maybe appraised? How much do they charge for something like that? How do I not get screwed in the process of selling them?

There was a bag full of pennies from 1940-1958, why would he keep these pennies? Is there a value to wheat pennies? Or is it because of the copper content? There are Morgan dollars, Kennedy 50 cent pieces with certificates, tiny little 20 dollar gold plated coins, rolls of Indian nickels, Liberty dimes and nickels with large "V" on one side... I can take some pics, but there are a lot of coins here it would take forever... If I knew what to look for it would help.
