How do they keep getting Jason Lieser to come on the show?

Is it all an act? Is he somehow obligated to do it? I enjoy his interviews a lot, while he sounds like he'd rather get a healthy tooth pulled.

I've only been listening to the local hour for a few months, I might not be fully in on the joke.
