[Diplomacy] A Discussion Between Brothers

While the Paris conference was going on and many were discussing colonial matters, there was something that Crown Prince Oscar noticed. While the other parties of the world were either debating, discussing or arguing over territories (one of those persons being his brother, the king) Oscar was watching how the other countries acted. Having dedicated his life to politics since 14, he now understood that sometimes you could tell alliances by how one acted or reacted towards suggestions from other parties.

What he noticed was that the the british had quite a few allies, or at least friends. The Greeks come as no surprise, as the Greeks owe everything they have and aim to get to the British. Italy was hard to read, supporting both France and Britain, but seemed to have favored the British propositions more. But what was actually surprising, was that Germany was also agreeing with Britain, more so than the usual. While to a political simpleton like his brother it seemed normal, Oscar seemed to be getting an odd sort of friendship out of the two parties.

After the Event, Oscar confided what he thought to Gustaf. Gustaf, upon hearing what his brother had gathered, asked his brother what to do when it comes to the matter. Oscar thought that at all cost, Britain and Germany should not formalize the supposed alliance, as it could mean terrible things for the world, or more importantly, the European continent.

But with having done enough travelling and debating to last a lifetime, they decided to put it off till another time, hoping to regather themselves and wait to see the political landscape. Until earlier this week, when King Gustaf got an invitation from the President of France to discuss a possible alliance. It seemed the French noticed the same things that Oscar had, which was somewhat worrying.

Because nothing had happened after the conference, the brothers were just hoping that this thought was nothing more than a fleeting feeling. But it was always best to cover the bases, and make sure such a thing wouldn't happen. So as King Gustaf went to the secret meeting, He sent Oscar to meet with the Germans, to discuss whatever in the realm of siding with the continent. [S]or if the tide turns against the Dual Kingdoms, to side with the stronger power[/s]

The Crown Prince wishes a word with the Kaiser and or the Chancellor of Germany, as nations as close as ours should talk more often than we do.
