An update to the sidebar and a general subreddit update!

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well. I just want to make a short post to pin to the top here for a little bit to bring attention to our new sidebar rule and tool.

We’ve seen a pretty impressive growth over the last few weeks with over 2100 new subscribers in the month of december and have picked up a few more active posters. With this not everyone is going to be here every day to see what does or does not get posted and with a growing number of reports of re-post, (even though we never had a rule against it in the first place) we’re going to be a little proactive and go ahead and implement one.

1. Any image that is currently in the top 25 sorted by all time on the subreddit should be avoided ( albums excluded from this rule for obvious reasons ) along with any image posted within the last month (30 days).

We’re going to be using u/dxprog’s excellent tool to help out. You can use the website here or install either the Firefox or Chrome addons to check any image to see if its already been posted and how long ago.

Most newcomers to new subreddits already check the top post to see what the sub has to offer and 30 days should be long enough for any given image to fall out of recent memory for most people. If in the future we get more activity or see any reason to change this we will update you guys with a post like this one.

While I have your attention to the sidebar feel free to checkout our Discord and Telegram servers both with over 300 members now.

If you have any comments, about this change - the state of the subreddit - or any suggestions to what you might like to see added in the future feel free to leave them below.
