At a dead end customer service job, looking to pursue something I enjoy. However, I'm also planning on moving. Should I wait?
So, I'll try to make the story as simple as I can.
Right after high school I got a job, and I've worked my way up the ladder for 4 years. I'm making decent pay, but I hate my job and I really want to pursue something I enjoy.
I've spent countless upon countless of hours working on video game side projects. Making homebrew Pokemon games in high school, working on various RPG maker games, developing maps in Call of Duty games, and just fiddling around with different developers tools on games. Sadly, I haven't really worked on programming languages since Java in high school, but I have found a real passion for level design.
While video game level design would be my dream career, I just would love to work with computers and software. I love the problem solving aspect and creating something from nothing. So, I figured it's finally time to start going for a Computer Science degree.
My boyfriend and I are planning to move to Oregon in a year or two, though so my major question is should I wait until I move, or is it easy to transfer to a new school in a different state? Is there online courses that aren't complete shit so that I don't have to transfer schools?
Thanks for any help I can get.
