Hello,
I sent out a Priority Mail box from NY last week on Wednesday, the 28th and the package was delivered on Friday, the 30th.
The recipient said that they didn't receive anything, they also said that don't have a, "Mail Room;" they reassured me that sometimes the packages gets prematurely scanned before being actually delivered. I was hoping that was the case.
I opened up a case yesterday, but I've decided to call the local USPS office in Valencia, California. They put me on hold and told me that the GPS tracking confirms that the package was delivered to the wrong address. They told me that a Delivery Supervisor will be giving me a call, "soon," however, I'm really worried that the package was thrown out.
How common is it for the carrier to retrieve a package that was delivered to the wrong address? I did have insurance on the package, but there is nothing of value in it for anyone else. The package included film negatives from my previous vacations spanning 4 years, so this means a lot to me. I guess my mistake was not requiring a signature.
Just posting to get some frustration off my chest, but I'm really hoping the carrier can retrieve the package or the recipient can give it back to the carrier to have it delivered to the correct address.
Thanks for listening...
