How did I get this kill (Q bug?)

So I clearly miss the return hit on my timewinder, E in, and then something magically procs the third hit of my passive getting me a kill. I think my Q somehow followed me through my E blink, which if is the case, could be a very useful technique. I haven't been able to replicate it at all, has anyone else experienced anything like this?
