[EXPANSION] Well, We've Got This Army--We Might As Well Use It?

EXPANSION

General Paulus Ulenga looked out over the Windhoek Parade Ground full of joy. The Namibian Defense Force had ballooned in recent months with thousands of brave Namibian men willing to take up arms. It did his heart much good to see so many young men wearing their uniforms with pride, carrying their rifles with purpose, and ranging outwards with the strength inherent to their people. A frown crept onto his face as insidious thought crept into his mind--the Elder Council certainly hadn't been thinking of this when they'd approved the funding for the military's expansion. If anything they'd just been looking for anything they could throw money into so they wouldn't have to return any of it to those South Americans. Frankly it was a wonder they'd been able to decide on that between all the squabbling and backbiting that was typical of their meetings. And apparently they're attempt wasn't nearly subtle enough--South Americans in, admittedly, snazzy outfits had arrived a few months previously to have a word with the "Elders" in private. Paulus waved genially down to the assembled men as he fumed internally--he was losing patience with the politics of the capital--many of his fellow generals felt the same way--perhaps they should go vacation somewhere to get a break from it all.

His waving slowed to a halt as he looked down upon the soldiers before him with new eyes--perhaps they could get their vacation from the Council--and put the new recruits through their paces.
