[NEWS] Iraqi monarchy losing popularity to rising pan-Arabists and losing control of Shi'a tribes

NEWS

With an extremely low literacy rate, a poor country and an unstable situation, King Faisal II has been failing his people immensely despite the high expectations of him. Recently, for the very first time, several army leaders have been criticising him for his anti-Arabist stance and some such as Brigadier Abdul Karim Qassem have gone to the extent of denouncing the King as a "puppet of the Zionists and Brits" and "a person focused on the division of the Arab world for his and his dynasty's personal gains". The King said that none of this is true, and that Abdul Karim Qassem's comments are "inappropiate" but he nonetheless stated that "unlike the Arab fascists people like Abdul Karim Qassem seem to admire" he shall allow him to speak his mind and not expel him from the Army.

The King also seems to be losing control of Shi'a tribes which have been silenced for decades. The leaders of several of these tribes, even including the Barzani tribe which isn't Shi'a or even Arab, have gathered in Northern Iraq to issue a joint statement that the government is losing their support and that the King must change his course.

Who knows what the future will bring to Iraq?
