Got My Legal ACMPR Today

I thought this may be helpful for those considering this as an option. I had smoked pot in high school, I was by no means a pothead though. I became a Christian in my late teens (let's not have religious debates here, but I think this will help inform how and I why I went about this) and really didn't think about it again until a few years ago, I'm 34 now.

2 years ago I had a kidney stone. It became a 6 month nightmare to deal with and I was on oxycocet for a long period of time. I became anxious about losing my prescription after I was all healed up. I had taken so many my benefits stopped paying for them. At that point I thought to myself, I remember pot being far better than this with far less side effects. How is it still illegal? I have disc herniation and slight scoliosis, it's not chronic, but it flairs up when I'm active and over the counter stuff doesn't work, but I had never thought of using cannabis for my back pain. I ended up getting a membership at Canna Clinic, after the raids. Man did it ever help. But I had a crisis. That being engaged in illegal activity meant being duplicitous, I want to be the most transparent and consistent in all areas of my life. Not to mention I could lose me my job or get a criminal record. So I gave it up. Only to fully realize just how much it had been helping with my back.

My chiropractor recommended I go medical. He wrote a report for me detailing my condition. My family doctor used that to support a referral to a clinic I won't name, but supposedly very reputable. I had my first appointment today. First off, the fees are entirely optional. They have a fee to register you with an LP and to have a one on one to talk about picking an LP and using cannabis in general. If you’re prepared and well researched, you don’t need either of those things. I picked Tilray as my LP. Broken Coast seems to be the only one that unanimously endorsed, but they aren’t taking on new patients at the moment. After reading reviews and eliminating LPs with high shipping, Tilray and Medreleaf were the two left standing. Tilray had more selection and more even pricing, so I went with them. I should be fully registered by next week and can place my first order.

My thoughts after all of this? Medical Cannabis in Canada is a straight up RACKET. These clinics exploit people who don’t know what they’re doing. In what other circumstance would you have to pay fees to get a prescription? I also had to do a urine test. Not that I have anything to hide, but I’ve never had to do that with any other medicine. They even had a section in their material on why LPs were better than dispensaries, most of which was entirely false. No one seems to mention shipping costs or mandatory minimum orders (usually 5 grams of one strain) yet say LPs are cheaper. They hound on how LPs are regulated and safe in this system, failing to mention that I or someone I designate can grow it legally and have no idea what we’re doing. The Globe and Mail did a study and found that dispensary cannabis is just as safe. Meanwhile this month a major LP had to do a massive recall for use of an unapproved pesticide. Or that LPs have low THC and high CBD options, as if dispensaries don't? The real irony is that most LPs have no selection at all.

What I’ve discovered, one will get you arrested and one won’t, the reasons are entirely arbitrary and nonsensical
