I'd like reviews of Matthew Saxton's book Child Language: Acquisition And Development
I'm looking at learning more about first language acquisition in children, after having recently become a parent. The subreddit FAQ lists two which sound interesting, but I also found this book by Matthew Saxton (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Child-Language-Acquisition-Matthew-Saxton/dp/1412902320) which I am wondering if anyone has any opinions on.
Aside from "how good is it?" I'd specifically like to know whether it's too simplified. I have degrees in cognitive science and in language technology, so I'd prefer a book that doesn't need to explain basic concepts in linguistics.
Thanks! :)
