Student here, Bank of America has been charging me $12 a month for the last 18 months. What can I do?
Hi r/personalfinance. I'm a sophomore in college right now, and I've found that for my check account, BofA has been charging me $12 a month, in 13 separate instances, for the past 18 months, aftering printing out a summary of my statement balances since I created the account.
Here's the thing. I've been a student since I created the checkings account. I read that they have a policy where if I am a student under 23 (I am) and enrolled in a school, I can have those fees waived. I think I have been unjustly charged these fees and I would like the money back.
I'm thinking of bringing my copy of the BofA's statement balances with me printed, my college acceptance letter, and student ID, and travel to BofA tomorrow to ask them to refund me those 13 different instances since the whole time, I have been a student since I have been charged and would like my money back.
Did anyone else experience this?
Are there better or faster ways which I can get my money back?
