Harley Air Cleaners

So I recently got a 05 Harley Sportster 883 from my dad who bought it and never rode it. he did a couple things to it and I wanted to continue to modify it a little bit. I see Harley has intake kits for it well into the 200 300 dollar range. I see ebay had the same style air cleaners for a fraction of that. Now I know ebay is Chinese junk most of the time but I was wondering if I get the kit and just swap the air filter with an actual name brand filter would I benefit from doing that or is it just better to get a screaming eagle intake from Harley. I also see a lot of people who say screaming eagle is garbage so I just want some input from people who have more knowledge than me with bikes. this is my first bike ever an I just would like some input. Thanks
