U.S. Code § 1043 - Sale of property to comply with conflict-of-interest requirements

Has anyone seen discussion of US Code 1043 as it applies to the people who are currently being considered for positions in the new US administration?

tl;dr, if you join government services, divest your interest in a company and buy a new asset, you only pay capital gains on the gains made in the new asset upon divestiture at the end of your term, not the original asset.

I found an article in Forbes from 2006 about Paulson and that is about it.

A tabulation of the potential tax benefit to be received by these appointees would be an interesting read. This is one heck of a great investment plan if I correctly understand how it works.
