How to feed a 3-4 week old kitten?

We are fostering a 3-4 week old kitten. We're currently feeding him mush food and not at solid food yet. He is a very messy eater and puts his face and paws in his meal. It's tiring cleaning him after every meal and we need a new way to feed him.

We try syringe feeding (Not the needle kind thank god, this kind) But the food gets stuck in the hole and when you try to put more pressure all the food shoots out. And we tried bowl feeding but its very messy.
